Welcome to the Health and Safety Resources Page for DEH Faculty and Staff. The purpose of this page is to bring together resources you may need to perform your research safely and legally.

The University of Cincinnati accepts Federal money to fund research. Tied to that money are health and safety requirements You, as the principle or co-investigator, are responsible for ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations that apply to your research.
The DEH Health and Safety Committee is not a regulatory or enforcement group. The Committee exists to provide you, the researcher, with easier access to information and the University groups that officially oversee regulatory compliance associated with regulated research tools.

The regulated areas addressed here are: Chemical Safety, Biological Materials Safety, Animal Care and Radioactive Safety One area not addressed, but having important, pre-use requirements is research involving human subjects; however, a brief note on this area is included at the bottom of this page.
